During the Summer of 2016, I ran programs for the Boom Box Residencies series at the Brooklyn Museum. Here we invited DJs to mix on Tom Sach’s Boombox Retrospective: 1999–2016 installation placed in the museum’s lobby.
I particularly curated the DJing event for July 28th, 2016 where Tom Sachs’s Presidential Vampire Booth hosted No Vacancy Inn (Tremaine Emory and Acyde) and special guests Venus X and NY Theo (Theophilus London). They also ran Sachs’s Bodega, a combination artwork and working store in the middle of our glass entryway, where they sold homemade red velvet cake, USB mixes, and T-shirts.

Our favorite Brooklyn DJs and trailblazing producers take over the boom boxes in Tom Sachs’s installation Boombox Retrospective: 1999–2016 with intimate live sets across genres. Happy Hour at The Norm all night long.
This week, artist Tom Sachs’s Presidential Vampire Booth plays host to No Vacancy Inn (Tremaine Emory and Acyde) and special guests Venus X and NY Theo (Theophilus London). They’ll also be running Sachs’s Bodega, a combination artwork and working store in the middle of our glass entryway, where they’ll be selling homemade red velvet cake, USB mixes, and T-shirts.
